As Ramadan 2024 draws to a close in Pakistan and various parts of the world, anticipation mounts for the upcoming celebration of Eidul Fitr. All eyes are eagerly fixed on the moon sighting committee as they prepare to make the official announcement regarding the commencement of Eid festivities.
Pakistan's primary moon sighting authority, the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, is slated to convene on Tuesday to observe the crescent moon of Shawwal. The sighting of this moon will play a crucial role in determining the exact date for Eidul Fitr across the country. According to astronomical forecasts, there is a possibility of the moon being sighted on April 9th, signaling that Eid will likely fall on Wednesday, April 10th.
In preparation for this significant occasion, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has scheduled a meeting on Tuesday, April 9th, in Islamabad to conduct the moon sighting. Additionally, other regional and district committees will convene on Tuesday evening to gather testimonies regarding the sighting of the moon.
As the nation eagerly awaits the official announcement, the government of Pakistan has already declared public holidays for Eidul Fitr. Offices operating on a five-day workweek will observe holidays from April 10th to April 12th, while those with a six-day workweek will enjoy an extended break from April 10th to April 13th.
With the excitement and anticipation building up, communities across Pakistan are gearing up to celebrate Eidul Fitr, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan and ushering in a joyous occasion of unity, festivity, and spiritual reflection.
