Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Shami, Chief Editor of Daily Pakistan and a senior journalist, recounted a brief encounter with the former top general at a wedding ceremony. During a conversation with TV host Muhammad Malik, Shami addressed Khan's claims of collusion with the US to dismantle the previous Pakistani government.
In a televised prime-time segment on a private news channel, Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Shami disclosed that General (retired) Bajwa took an oath on the Holy Quran, vehemently denying any involvement in Imran's removal from office.

The experienced journalist reported that General (retired) Bajwa produced a pocket-sized Holy Quran and swore upon it that he played no part in facilitating Nawaz Sharif's transfer from Lahore to London on account of health concerns.
Furthermore, he highlighted that General Bajwa explicitly stated that he never sought an extension to his tenure during his service, nor did he make any such request to any government official.
