WhatsApp features have gotten a lot more interesting after the meta-owned app rolled out new update to manage the camera and video calls.
The new update, named camera effects, is currently available to some beta testers and will be accessible to more users in coming days, reported WaBetaInfo.
The new feature, which will allow users to manage effects for the camera and video calls, through the new privacy feature.
Located within the privacy settings, the new option allows people to manage their camera effects. "Once enabled, it allows users to apply effects, filters, and backgrounds to both the camera and during video calls," said WaBetaInfo.
Some of the affects allow interactions to be more expressive and personalised as they can dynamically respond to facial expressions, hand gestures, and movements.
"This feature can be toggled on or off based on the user preferences, offering flexibility in how these effects are applied. If users want to maintain a more professional or standard appearance during calls, they can simply disable these effects," it added.
Moreover, these effects can easily be dynamically respond to facial expressions, hand gestures, and movements for more casual or fun interactions.
It should be noted that users can disable effects directly within the camera interface during video calls. However, for more permanent solution, users can opt to disable the mentioned option in the privacy settings to hide the button entirely.
This will give them more control over the experience, making it easier for them to use the feature whenever they want to.
