WhatsApp is set to roll out a new feature to enhance user experience and streamline contact and group management within the app, according to WABetaInfo.
The upcoming update will include a convenient shortcut that allows users to add contact and groups to lists, WABetaInfo reported, adding that the new shortcut will be part of the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.19.25 update.
The new shortcut will bring added functionality to the popular Meta-owned messaging platform.
It will be easily accessible within the chat info screen, positioned as a button within the top app bar. This shortcut is designed to simply the process of organising contacts and group chats, allowing users assign individuals or groups to specific lists directly from the chat info screen.
Additionally, users will have the option to create a new list without the need to navigate to the app settings, streamlining the overall management of contacts and groups.
After adding a person or group chat to a list, it will also be accessible from the filter that WhatsApp automatically created for the chats list.
This means that once a list is created and specific chats are assigned, users can easily locate those conversations by selecting the corresponding filter at the top of the chat screen in the future.
Additionally, users will also be able to remove a person or group from a list directly from the same menu.
The new shortcut will also save users' time, as they won't have to go through the app settings to manage specific contacts or groups.
The shortcut is under development and it will be available in a future update.
