In a fresh twist to the ongoing tech rivalry, South Korean electronics giant Samsung has reignited its playful feud with Apple.

Following Apple's major product reveal at the Glowtime event on Monday, Samsung took to social media with a cheeky remark aimed at its competitor.

At Apple's event, the company showcased its new iPhone 16 series along with updates to the Apple Watch Series 10, the Apple Watch Ultra 2, and a refreshed AirPods lineup. The event also introduced enhancements to iOS 18, highlighting Apple's latest technological advancements.

However, as the tech world buzzed with excitement over Apple's announcements, Samsung seized the opportunity to take a playful dig at Apple.

On its official X (formerly Twitter) account, Samsung reposted a comment from 2022 that read, “Let us know when it folds.” This comment, aimed at Apple’s continued absence from the foldable smartphone market, was a clear nod to Samsung’s own advancements in the segment, particularly with its popular Galaxy Z Fold6.

Samsung followed up with a new post, “Still waiting......,” emphasizing that the rivalry between the two tech giants is very much alive.

The tweet quickly gained traction, sparking a wave of reactions across social media. While many Samsung fans found the humour in the situation, the post received mixed reactions overall. Some users criticized Samsung’s remark, while others defended it.

This isn't the first time Samsung has taken a swipe at Apple. In the past, Samsung has mocked Apple’s advertisements, including a notable instance where it responded to Apple’s iPad Pro ad.

The ad depicted a hydraulic press crushing various artistic tools, which many interpreted as a metaphor for creativity being stifled by technology. In response, Samsung released a 43-second spot titled ‘Creativity Cannot Be Crushed’.

The ad depicted a woman discovering and playing a tattered guitar amidst the ruins left by Apple's hydraulic press, reading music notes on a Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. Samsung’s message was clear: “We would never crush creativity.”

As the tech rivalry continues, Samsung's latest social media post underscores the enduring competition between the two tech giants, with both companies keenly aware of the impact of their latest innovations on the market.

Huawei unveils world's first triple-folding phone at triple the cost of latest iPhone

Chinese tech giant Huawei on Tuesday unveiled the world's first triple-folding phone at more than three times the price of the newest iPhone, hours after its US competitor lifted the curtain on its own new handset built for AI.

The Mate XT was officially launched in a keynote presentation by Huawei executive Richard Yu at the firm's headquarters in the southern city of Shenzhen.

Originally designed as a premium phone for a niche audience, more than three million people registered interest in buying the Mate XT ahead of its launch.

The gadget officially goes on sale on September 20, with prices beginning at an eye-watering $2,800, over three times more than the new iPhone 16.

Advertised in a sleek red and gold design, the phone can transform into a 10.2 inch (26 centimetre) tablet and weighs 298 grams (10.5 ounces).

"This is the world's first triple-folding phone," Richard Yu said at the keynote.

"We have put in a huge amount of effort into solving the problems regarding mass production and product reliability," he added.

Its release comes a day after Apple announced its iPhone 16, built for generative artificial intelligence as it seeks to boost sales and keep up in the technology race.
