Recovering quickly after losing first wicket in the first over, Pakistan scored 99 in 25 overs of the first session of the day two of the second Test against Bangladesh at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Saturday.

Abdullah Shafique was bowled out by Taskin Ahmed in the first over. Captain Shan Masood scoring fast 50 steadied his partnership with opener Saim Ayub, who is also just 7 runs short of his half-century.

Earlier, the guests had decided to bowl first after winning the toss.

After lunch break, the second session of play will be played from 12:40pm to 2:55pm followed by a tea break until 3:15 and then the third session will be played from 3:15pm to 5:15pm and the game could be extended by half an hour to complete the day's overs.

Spinner Abrar Ahmed and left-arm medium pacer Mir Hamza have replaced fast bowlers Naseem Shah and Shaheen Shah Afridi, who has been released to spend time with his family.

Whereas, Bangladesh brought Taskin in and rested Shoriful Islam.

It should be noted that the first day of the Test was washed out without even a toss.

The 12-member Pakistan squad for the second Test match against Bangladesh includes captain Masood, Ayub, Shafique, Babar Azam, Saud Shakeel, Muhammad Rizwan, Salman Ali Agha, Naseem Shah, Khurram Shahzad, Abrar Ahmed, Mir Hamza and Muhammad Ali.
