Suri Cruise is officially a college freshman at Carnegie Mellon University, moving into her dorms in Pittsburgh this past Sunday with her mother, Katie Holmes.
As classes are set to start on August 26, Suri, 18, is stepping into university life without the financial burden of tuition.
While Suri’s mother will be helping her settle into her new campus home, it’s her father, Tom Cruise, who will be handling the hefty $65,000 tuition bill.
This arrangement was established in their 2012 divorce settlement, which stipulated that Tom would cover all of Suri’s educational expenses, including college fees.
According to the divorce documents, Tom is responsible for Suri's "medical, dental, insurance, education, college, and other extracurricular costs."
So, while she focuses on her studies and college experience, Tom Cruise will be taking care of the financial side of her higher education.
"He has always paid for her schooling and would never stop as he is a stand-up guy.
The actor has never hesitated with child support and expenses and fulfills his obligations without fail," according to a source reported by Daily Mail.
While Tom has maintained his financial support for Suri, he is likely no longer contributing the previous $38,000 annual child support payments now that she is 18 and considered an adult.
This arrangement comes despite the fact that Tom and Suri have not been photographed together in over a decade, with their last public appearance dating back to April 2013.
The daughter has also distanced herself from her father by changing her last name from Cruise to Noelle, adopting her mother Katie Holmes' middle name.
