Michael Easton bid farewell to General Hospital after filming his final scenes on the set.
On Wednesday, June 26, the actor, who portrayed Dr. Hamilton Finn in the beloved soap opera, took to Instagram to share the news of his departure after a decade on the show.
"I’ve always been partial to the Irish goodbye," he began in the video. "That’s where you leave the party without actually telling anyone you’re gone."
"But I thought you all deserved better, so I just wanted to let you know that I just filmed my final scenes here at General Hospital," he continued, "I’ve loved every minute that I’ve been here."
The 57-year-old actor expressed his gratitude to the cast and crew members and most importantly, he thanked his fans "for the kindness and love you’ve shown me and my family. I won’t ever forget you."
Easton concluded the emotional video message by taking a stroll around the location, saying, "And as I walk out here for the last time, and with apologies to the great Lou Gehrig, I feel like the luckiest man on the face of the Earth."
The video was accompanied by a heartfelt caption that read, "Thank you for your kindness. My heart is filled with love and gratitude. #gh #goodbye."
Easton joined General Hospital in 2012 from One Life to Live, where he played John McBain.
