Speculation is swirling in India's entertainment industry about the potential retirement of Bollywood megastar Aamir Khan.
Famously known as Mr Perfectionist, the rumours regarding the Bollywood filmmaker's retirement gained traction following an interview with his son, Junaid Khan, who is debuting in the Netflix film Maharaj.
In an interview, Junaid disclosed that his father is contemplating retirement, which prompted him to formally launch his own career in the film industry.
He explained that his experience on film sets, working behind the camera in PK, and shooting ads have given him a good understanding of what production entails
Junaid Khan shared, "I have always been behind the camera on film sets, working on a project for Aamir Khan Productions when my father told me, 'I'm retiring; why don't you take over?"
This was the moment, Junaid explained he felt that he should officially step into production.
"I believe I have a good understanding of film production, which is one of the most challenging areas of filmmaking."
Aamir Khan is reportedly working on the second instalment of his renowned film, Taare Zameen Par. The Bollywood superstar has been navigating a challenging phase in his career, following a series of box-office disappointments.
In 2018, his film Thugs of Hindostan turned out to be a significant flop, followed by Laal Singh Chaddha, which also failed to perform well at the box office.
