Bangladesh won the toss and chose to bowl in the first Test against Pakistan on Wednesday which is being played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

The match faced hours-long delay due to the wet outfield of the stadium after overnight rain in the city. 

A total of 48 overs will be bowled today as the last session will begin 4:40pm after the tea break. The play will continue till 6pm but can be extended by 30 minutes to complete the overs.

Shan Masood's side decided to go with the all-pace attack in the first Test in Rawalpindi as their bowling attack consist of Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah Khurram Shehzad and Mohammad Ali.

The match, the first of two, is part of the World Test Championship (WTC) third cycle (2023-2025) contested by nine teams. 

With Pakistan currently ranked sixth and Bangladesh on the eighth position in the Test rankings, both teams are eager to perform and strengthen their position on the WTC points table.

The Green Shirts and Bangladesh have so far locked horns in 13 matches in six Test series with the Green Shirts emerging winners in 12 of them as one ended in a draw.

It is to be noted that The second Test will also be played in Rawalpindi, from August 30, after being moved from Karachi because of construction work at the stadium.

Bangladesh: Najmul Hossain Shanto (captain), Mahmudullah, Zakir Hasan, Shadman Islam, Mominul Haque, Mushfiqur Rahim, Shakib Al Hasan. Litton Das, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Taijul Islam, Nazmul Hossain, Nurul Hasan, Ebadot Hossain, Hasan Mahmud, Taskin Ahmed and Khaled Ahmed.
